Hello! And the Oberoi, Mumbai hosted Khushii India on Canvas 2007

8th September 2007: HELLO! The world's most spectacular celebrity glossy has not only made a grand entry in India but has set new standards in celebrity journalism. The Oberoi, Mumbai has over the years built its reputation by providing gracious service in an environment of understated luxury.

Hello! and The Oberoi, Mumbai are supporting Lodha Khushii, 'India On Canvas' which is a charity event in collaboration with prominent personalities from various walks of life including corporate honcho's, politicians and actors. to raise funds towards creating a better tomorrow and a safe future for the underprivileged. homeless youth and the elderly.

Some of the eminent personalities that participated last year were Tina Ambani, Ratan Tata, P. Chindambaram, Renuka Chaudhary and Amitabh Bachchan. The auction took place at the British High Commissioner's residence in the capital. This professional auction saw an astounding collection of art works raising a total of around Rs 1.5 crores.

Khushii 'India on Canvas 2007' will be no different. Renowned artists like, MF Husain, Satish Gujral, Krishnamachari Bose, Tyeb Mehta, Riyaz Komu, Atul Dodiya, Satish Gupta and Jehangir Sabawala have all come together for this righteous cause.

The luminaries participating are the city's most respected, Mrs Manmohan Singh, Praful Patel, Vilasrao D8shmukh, Vijay Mallya, Gautam Singhania, former cricketers Kapil Dev and Imran Khan, Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan, Sushmita Sen, Lata Mangeshkar, Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu, Bal Thackery and the Indian cricket team.
Each celebrity works with a chosen artist, to create an artwork for the auction. The money will be used by the NGO Khushii Foundation for charity.
